Pedro Paramo:
Book Cover Redesign

Project Overview
This project is a reimagined book cover for Juan Rulfo’s Pedro Páramo. The novel blends magical realism with themes of death, solitude, and the lasting effects of power and suffering. The central element is a reaching hand with skeletal features, representing both Pedro Páramo and the presence of death. A strong red tone runs through the design to convey the oppression he exerts over Comala and the gradual decay of its people. The hand appears soft and slightly blurred, suggesting the unclear boundary between the living and the dead. The background remains hazy and fragmented to reflect the novel’s non-linear structure and shifting perspectives. Designed for readers drawn to complex, atmospheric, and unconventional narratives.
